Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is continually finding ways to further integrate inclusion practices into our work both internally and externally.
Valuing difference and creating value through difference
Harvard Pilgrim has been a thought leader in Diversity & Inclusion for many years. We are committed to the idea that we can create value through difference. We believe in the power of diverse perspectives, in the power of working with others, and especially in the power of helping each other.
Internally & Externally
As a non-profit organization, our approach is one of civic consciousness and being responsible for our employees and the millions of people we serve.
Individuals at every level experience unconscious bias learning, champion inclusion, and understand our commitment to equality.
We are actively researching what drives health inequity to provide equal care and service to all members.
Veterans
At Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, we believe that the valuable skills gained in the military are transferable to our organization. That’s why we make sure that our veterans feel supported and have the resources they need to grow in their post-military career. We have many resources to ensure your success including:

Mentoring

Job Shadowing

Inclusion at work
An environment that celebrates and embraces inclusion is one that is innovative and constantly growing. At Harvard Pilgrim, we respect each employee’s perspective. When every person can bring their whole self to work without fear, we are able to do our work better—for our members, for our community, for ourselves.

Eastern Harmony
Our Eastern Harmony program combines the traditions of western medicine with those of China and India, such as acupuncture, ayuvedic practices, herbal medicine and mindfulness. This enables employers to offer access to complementary and alternative medicine.

Transgender
We provide the proper care to transgender men and women because it requires a highly personalized care management plan, often involving collaboration between health professionals in different specialties.

Visiting Family Insurance
Harvard Pilgrim has a partner network that provides temporary medical coverage to international travelers visiting friends and family in the U.S.
